Scurvy is a deficiency disease caused by a lack of vitamin C(ascorbic acid) in the diet.
Some of the food sources of vitamin C are amla, tomato, lemon, orange, guava, cabbage, pineapple and sprouted grains. So, a person suffering from scurvy lacks all these food constituents in their diet.
Scurvy mainly causes bleeding gums and joint discomfort as well as other symptoms.
