Lipase:

  1. It is the enzyme that is involved in the breakdown or digestion of fat molecules in food.
  2. This starts working once the fats are emulsified, i.e. broken down into smaller globules by the action of bile juice.
  3. The enzyme lipase breaks down the fats into fatty acids and glycerol which are easier to absorb by the body.
