The functions of the female reproductive parts are:
i. Fallopian tube - The egg produced by the ovary is carried from the ovary to the womb through a thin fallopian tube or oviduct. Fertilization takes place in the fallopian tube.

ii. Ovary - Ovaries help in the production of eggs. One egg is produced every month by one of the ovaries.

iii. Uterus - Uterus is like an elastic bag-like structure. Fertilized egg is implanted in the uterus. Then growth and development of the fertilised egg (zygote) takes place in the uterus. It also helps in nourishing the growing embryo by placenta which is a disc embedded in the uterine wall richly supplied with blood.

iv. Cervix - It is a passage or an opening which helps in allowing passage of sperm to the uterus through vagina to fertilize with the egg.

v. Vagina - It helps to hold the sperms till they pass to the uterus. It also provides a passage way for child birth.
