Rhynchocephalia is the order in which there are organisms like lizards. This is a group of reptiles. There are two species of Sphenodon which are included in this group. The organism has elongated body. There is a long tail which is flat from the lateral sides. There are dots on the sides of the body. There are spikes on the back of the body. There are scales like structure on the body. The limbs are short. Teeth are pleurodont and homodont like reptiles but they are monophyodont. Teeth are pointed and are arranged in two rows. There are many changes in the skull. There is a median bone, the pro-atlas, intercalated between the atlas and the occipital region of the skull.There is no copulatory organ (penis) in the male.
