Solution
Dear Student,
Fallopian Tube-
Location- Fallopian tubes are long narrow ducts located in the abdominal cavity of the human female. It has four parts- Fimbria, Infundibulum, Ampulla, and Isthmus.
Functions-
Fertilization (the fusion of male & female gametes) takes place here.
Fertilized ovum travels towards the uterus through the fallopian tube.
Occasionally ectopic pregnancy occurs here.
Sympathetic nerves-
Location-
The Sympathetic nervous system has paired chains of ganglia and other visceral ganglia.
Its preganglionic fibers are shorter than the postganglionic fibers.
Its preganglionic fibers originate from the spinal cord.
Functions-
Each preganglionic fiber forms synapses with many postganglionic fibers, so many organs are affected.
Its postganglionic fibers are adrenergic i.e., release the neurotransmitter noradrenaline.
It stimulates the medulla of the adrenal glands to release epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Hepatic Portal-
Location- Hepatic portal system consists of veins carrying blood from digestive parts like the stomach, intestine, spleen, etc, to the liver.
Functions- It carries substances absorbed from the intestines to the liver where their detoxification takes place before returning to the heart.
