Solution

Leaves are thin, flattened, chlorophyll-bearing, photosynthetic organs of a plant.

  • The main function of the leaf is to manufacture food by the process called photosynthesis. This process takes place in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.

  • The leaf also helps in gaseous exchange and transpiration. Transpiration is an evaporative loss of water through the tiny pores called stomata.
