It is an infectious disease caused by a bacterial infection of the human lungs.
T.B is caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Mode of transmission:
This disease is often contracted through the air. When an infected person coughs, the droplets are released into the environment and it has the potential to infect the healthy individual.
It is an air-borne disease and is transmitted through droplets of cough, sneeze, and spit. Also, sharing spoons, food, and water bottles with the infected person cause the disease.
Hence, it is advised to stay away from patients affected by the disease.
