Burning of a candle is a chemical change as well as a physical change.
When the wax melts, it is a physical change as the wax can be frozen again.
When the wick of the candle burns, it is a chemical change.

Where wax is carbon based petrol product which on combustion gives carbon dioxide and water vapours.
