Mention three methods of reducing friction in a machine

w.k.t frictional force is related as

$f=\mu N$

where,

$\mu -$ coefficient of friction

$N-$ Normal force

So, friction can be reduced by reducing $\mu$;

i) Make the surface smoother , as rough surfaces has high value of $\mu$.

ii)By using lubricant over the surface

By reducing $N$ ;

iii) reduce the contact between the surfaces.
