Advantages of biogas over fossil fuels are:

1. Biogas is a renewable source of energy- Biogas is both a renewable and environmentally friendly source of energy. Biogas production reduces dependency on nonrenewable and limited fossil fuels like oil and coal.
2. Eco friendly- Since there is no combustion involved in the process, there are no greenhouse gas emissions into the environment; hence, using waste gas as a source of energy is an excellent strategy to counteract global warming.
3. Utilized waste in a productive manner- Biogas uses organic waste material as a fuel to generate energy. Hence reducing the waste and reducing the cost of waste management.
