Solution
Introduction to lactational amenorrhea:
Lactational amenorrhea is a natural contraceptive method. In this method, the level of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) secreted by the hypothalamus decreases for six months after parturition, when a mother intensively breastfeeds a child. Hence, the menstrual cycle will not be there in the female.
Advantages of lactational amenorrhea :
∙ It is a natural method with no side effects.
∙ It does not interfere with sexual desire.
∙ It does not involve any devices, medical intervention and surgical procedures.
∙ It is completely reversible, and there is no need to calculate the days of ovulation.
