Solution
Instructions: Answer with respect to unequal executive and financial powers.
Solution:
The Indian legislature has a bicameral parliament at the centre. The two houses - the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha - do not have equal powers.
The Lok Sabha enjoys more power since it can pass a ‘no-confidence’ motion against the Prime Minister and council of ministers and cause its dissolution. This means that the Prime Minister and council of ministers are accountable to Lok Sabha.
Money bills can only originate or be introduced in Lok Sabha. This house also has the power to pass budgets which the Rajya Sabha can not reject.
