Mention two ways in which the Constitution ensures the independence and impartiality of the High Courts.

The Constitution provides for separation of judiciary from the executive (Article 50 of the Constitution). The High Court is the apex judicial body of the State. The constitution has made the provisions to ensure the independence of High Court. The provisions are as such-:
1) Mode of Appointment - The judges are appointed by the president in consultation with the chief justice of India and chief justice of the High court. Thus ensuring impartiality in the appointment.
2) Its Jurisdiction cannot be curtailed by the Parliament or the State legislature.
3)It appoints its officers and servant itself.
4) The Conduct of judges cannot be discussed either in parliament or the State Legislature except when impeachment is in process.
