Metals have a property which helps them to get beaten into thin sheets. This is because of the ability of the atoms to roll over each other into new positions without breaking the metallic bond. What is this property of metals known as?
Malleability
Malleability is a physical property of matter, usually metals. It is the ability of a solid to be bent or hammered into other shapes without breaking whereas ductility is the property which allows metals to be drawn into wires.
