Solution

Metals such as Sodium (Na), Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca)and Magnesium (Mg) are never found in their natural condition since they are very reactive. As a result, it combines with other non-metals to complete its octet, resulting in impure forms. These metals easily give away their outer most electron and forms ions.

According to octet rule, atom can attain maximum of 8 electrons in its valence shell. For example: Chlorine (Cl) having atomic number 17 with an electronic configuration of (1s22s22p63s23p5) needs only one electron to complete its outermost 8 electrons to complete its shell.
