Solution

Metals:

  1. Metal is a solid material that conducts heat & electricity, hard, shiny, malleable, fusible, and ductile.
  2. Metals are substances that have the tendency to donate electrons. They are electropositive in nature.
  3. In metals the electrons in the outermost shells are loosely bound to the nucleus.
  4. Even at room temperature, there are a large number of free electrons which are moving inside the metal in a random manner.

Hence, Metals have a large number of free electrons.
