Solution

The correct option is A Clonal selection
The procedure of selection used for asexually propagated crops is known as clonal selection, since the selected plants are used to produce new clones. Or improvement of asexually propagated crop by selecting superior clones is known as clonal selection.
Superior clones can be isolated from three types of materials- 1) local variety, 2) introduced variety and 3) inter crossed populations.
So, clonal selection is selection of plants showing vegetative propagation. Thus, option A is correct.
Mass selection is a method of selection depends mainly on selection of plants according to their phenotype and performance. The seed from selected plants are bulked for the next generation. Thus, option B is correct.
Pureline selection is the selection of self pollinated species.
In pedigree method, individual plants are selected from F2 generation.
