We have: C=νλ
The wavelength of the microwaves is given by:
λm=3×1083×104×106=102 m=1 cm
The wavelength of the microwave is 1 cm. Also the wavelength of ultrasonic wave is 1 cm. Both the waves have wavelengths less than the slit width. So, diffraction will occur for both the waves.
Since the
two wave systems have the same wavelength, their diffraction patterns will be the same for the same slit.
