Democracy is a system of the governance where the government is for the people, of the people and by the people. In other words, democracy is a form of government in which people are allowed to choose their rulers. Following are the two important features of democracy:

(a) Only elected leaders by people rule the country.

(b) People have freedom to express views, freedom to organise and freedom to protest.
(c)The representatives elected are meant for the welfare of the people .
