Solution

The correct option is A Saprophytic
Rhizopus belongs to kingdom Fungi. It adopts the heterotrophic mode of nutrition. It is a saprophyte as it feeds on the dead and decaying material of the soil. The saprophytes release enzymes which break the organic compounds present in the dead and decaying matter into simpler compounds. Proteins are broken down into amino acids, lipids into fatty acid and glycerol and starch into glucose. These products are re-absorbed into the hypha through the cell wall via endocytosis and passed on throughout the mycelium complex and it sued for growth and development of the plant
So, the correct answer is 'Saprophytic'
