Time period $= 3$ years
Rate of interest $= 3 %$ per annum
Simple Interest $= R s . 36$
Simple interest $= \frac{P r i n c i p a l \times R a t e \times t i m e}{100}$
$36 = \frac{x \times 3 \times 3}{100}$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{3600}{9}$
$\Rightarrow x =$ Rs. $400$
