Question

Mohan bought 8 oranges for Rs. 4.80. If John has Rs. 7.20, how many oranges, more than Mohan, can he buy ?

Open in App
Solution

The cost of oranges is directly proportional to the number of oranges bought.
So, if for Rs4.8,8 oranges can be bought, then for Rs1,84.8 oranges can be bought,
And for Rs 7.2, number of oranges that can be bought is 7.2×84.8=12

So, John can buy 128=4 more oranges than Mohan.
