Given that Mohan had ₹ 1498.

Amount spent on shopping = ₹ 226

Considering ₹ 1498, the tens digit 9 is greater than 5. Hence, on rounding off to the nearest hundred we get 1500.

Similarly, consider 226, the tens digit 2 is less than 5. So, 226 will be rounded off to 200.

Approximate amount of money left with him when rounded off to nearest hundered will be
= ₹1500 - ₹200 = ₹1300
