Number of shares=480

Annual dividend=Rs.960

Rate of dividend=8%perannum

Step 2:

Calculating face value of share:

Let face value of share is Rs.x

So, the face value of 480 shares=480×x=Rs.480x

According to the question,

Totaldividend=Rateofdividend×Facevalueof480shares960=8%of480x960=480x×8100x=960×100480×8x=Rs.25

Hence, the face value of one share is Rs.25.
