Solution

Dear Student,

Reaction of the Decomposition of Potassium Chlorate →
2KClO₃ ----→ 2KCl +3Oâ‚‚

Reaction of Aluminium with Oxygen →
4Al + 3Oâ‚‚ ---→ 2Alâ‚‚O₃

Now,
From the Second Reaction,
∵ 4 moles of Aluminum Requires 3 moles of Oxygen.
∴ 1 moles of Aluminum requires 3/4 moles of Oxygen.

Now,
From the First Equation,
∵ 3 moles of Oxygen is produced by the 2 moles of Potassium Chlorate.
∴ 1 moles of Oxygen is Produced by the 2/3 moles of KClO₃.
∴ 3/4 moles of Oâ‚‚ is produced by the (2/3) × (3/4) moles of KClO₃.
= 1/2 moles of KClO₃.
= 0.5 moles of KClO₃.

∴ Moles of KClO₃ Required is 0.5 moles.
