Monika went to a park which is 600mlong and 300mwide. She took three complete rounds around its boundary. What distance did she cover ?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1 - Given, the length of a park = 600m

width of a park = 300m

Step 2 - Since Monika is completing rounds around its boundary. So, we have to apply the perimeter of rectangle formula which is

=2×length+breadth

Step 3 - Put the values in the formula

=2×600+300=2×900=1800m

Since Monika is completing 3 rounds. So, we have to multiply the perimeter by 3.

=3×1800=5400m

Hence, the distance covered by Monika is 5400m.
