More transpir...
Question
More transpiration occurs from the under surface of the dicot leaves
Open in App
Solution
Dicot plants or dicotyledons have a pair of cotyledons.
The dicots have dorsiventral (the two surfaces of the leaf i.e., dorsal and ventral differ from each other in appearance and structure) leaves.
Stomata count on the lower surface of dorsiventral leaves is more.
Transpiration rate increases with the rise in the number of stomata.
Dicots have more stomata on the lower surface of the leaves and therefore increased transpiration is observed.
