Morphology is the branch of science which deals with the study of form and structure.
The morphology or parts of a flowering plant are.
1. The Root-It is the underground part of a plant which helps in fixation and absorption of water. Types of root system are tap root system and adventitious root system.
2.The Stem - The stem develops from the plumule of the germinating seed and shows the differentiation of nodes and internodes.
3. The Leaf - The leaf is a green, flat, thin, expanded lateral appendage of a stem which is borne at the node and bears the bud. There are 16 types of leaf.
4.Flower - It is the modified dwarf shoot which is meant for sexual reproduction. Floral parts of the flower are Calyx, Corolla, Androecium, Gynoecium.
5. Fruit - After fertilization, the mature ovary develops into a fruit. The parenthocarpic fruits are formed from ovary without fertilization. The parts in fruit are Epicarp, Mesocarp, Endocarp, seed.
