1. The collecting of water and not flowing is called stagnation of water.
2. It is said to prevent the stagnation of water to prevent the growth of mosquitoes because they breed in the stagnant water.
3. The mosquitoes lay eggs in the stagnant water. The larvae develop from these eggs.
4. The larvae of these mosquitoes can not survive without water.
5. So for the control of communicable diseases, water stagnation needs to be prevented.
6. Many disease-causing microbes like plasmodium (which cause malaria) are the parasites of mosquitoes.
7. Mosquitoes act as carriers for pathogens of communicable diseases.
8. Most communicable diseases spread through water.
