Solution

Heredity of characters:

Heredity is the passing of characters from one generation to the next generation.

  1. Even though the mother gives birth to the child, both parents' gametes are fused during fertilization.
  2. Character is thus acquired by both parents.
  3. Therefore, both the father and the mother contributed to the zygote.
  4. The zygote grows into a baby, which possesses traits from both parents.
  5. Fertilization is the term used to describe the merging of the male and female gametes.
  6. The creation of a diploid zygote by the union of the male gametes (pollen) and the female gametes (ovum) is known as fertilization.
  7. It is a procedure that follows the carpel's pollination.
  8. The entire course of this procedure is carried out in the zygote before it matures into a seed.
