Mr. Rajan got a job at the age of 24 yr and he got retired from the job at the age of 60 yr. What fraction of his age till retirement was he in the job?
Given that
Mr. Rajan got a job at the age of 24 years.
Mr. Rajan retired at the age of 60 years.
The number of years he did the job = Retirement age - Joining age = 60 - 24 = 36 years
∴ The fraction of his age till retirement, when he was in the job = Total years he did the jobRetirement age=3660=36÷1260÷12=35 [∵ HCF of 36 and 60 = 12]
Hence, the required fraction is 35.
