Electroplating is a process of coating superior metals on the surface of some inferior metals.

  1. At the anode, the reaction happening is oxidation which is the loss of electrons.
  2. The loss of electrons is called an oxidation reaction.
  3. Here the Nickel loses electrons to produce Nickel ions.

So the reaction is,

Ni(Nickel)Ni2+(Nickelion)+2e-
