Solution

Step 1: Add the ones

Given: he withdraws Rs. 3880, Rs. 3027 and Rs. 7027 from the bank.

So he withdraws total Rs. =3880+3027+7027

First add ones 0+7+7=14,

Write 4 under ones column and carry 1 to tens column.

Step 2: Add the tens

Next add tens 1+8+2+2=13, (Extra 1 is carry from ones)

Write 3 under tens column and carry 1 to hundreds column.

Step 3: Add the hundreds

Next add hundreds 1+8+0+0=9, (Extra 1 is carry from tens)

Write 9 under hundreds column.

Step 4: Add the thousands

Finally add thousands 3+3+7=13, (Extra 1 is carry from hundreds)

Write 13 under thousands column.

So we get,

ThHTOcarry-over1138803027+702713934

Hence, he withdraw total Rs. 13934 from the bank.
