Solution

CaseI:
Let Mr. Suman total saving is Rs.y
His saving =13×y=Rs.y3

Market price of 1 share =Rs.60

Then, shares purchased =y3×60=Rs.y180

Dividend on 1 share =20% of Rs.50=20100×Rs.50=Rs.10

Total dividend =y180×10=Rs.y18

CaseII:
His savings =23×y=Rs.2y3

Market price of 1 share =Rs.110

Then, shares purchased =2y3×110=y165

Dividend on 1 share =10% of Rs.100=Rs.10

Total dividend =y165×10=Rs.2y33
Total income =Rs.4600
According to question,
y18+2y33=Rs.4600

23198y=Rs.4600

y=Rs.4600×19823

y=Rs.39600

The number of Rs.50 share =39600180=220

The number of Rs.100 share =39600165=240
