Mrs. Goyal has to pay $4 %$ sales tax in addition to the price if a certain article. Find the price of her article, if she pays $R s .260$ in all?

Let the price of the article be $R s . x$ . Then,

$x + 4 % o f x = 260$

$x + \frac{4}{100} x = 260$

$x + \frac{x}{25} = 260$

$26 x = 260 \times 25$

$x = 10 \times 25$

$x = 250$

Thus, the price of the article is $R s . 250$ .
