The multiplicative identity is applied while performing the operation of multiplication. Multiplicative identity states that if a number is multiplied to 1 the resultant will be the number itself.

So, “1” is the multiplicative identity of a number.

It is represented as a×1=a=1×a.

Example:

5×1=5=1×5
