When a decimal number is multiplied by $10, 100 o r 1000$ , the digits in the product are the same as in the decimal number but the decimal point in the product is shifted to the right by as many places as there are zeros over one.
Therefore,
$0.234 \times 10 = 2.34$ (shifting the point to the right by one place)
$0.234 \times 100 = 23.4$ (shifting the point to the right by two place)
$0.234 \times 1000 = 234$
