3×14 can be expressed as: 3×(10+4)

Now, placing the expanded form of numbers on box as shown in below figure,


Multiplying numbers on top of the box with the number on left side one by one as shown in below figure,


We know,
3×10=30
3×4=12


Now, adding the numbers inside the box will give the product.
3×14=30+12=42

Therefore, (c) is the correct option.
