Here we need to multiply $3 x^{2} - x^{3} + x + 1$ by $(1 + x)$

$(3 x^{2} - x^{3} + x + 1) (1 + x) = 3 x^{2} - x^{3} + x + 1 + 3 x^{3} - x^{4} + x^{2} + x$

$= 4 x^{2} + 2 x^{3} + 2 x + 1 - x^{4}$

$= - x^{4} + 2 x^{3} + 4 x^{2} + 2 x + 1$
