Open in App
Solution

Step 1. Reduce 13×158 to the lowest form.

A fraction is said to be in the lowest form if its numerator and denominator have no common factor other than one.

Reduce 13×158 to the lowest form:

13×158=58

Since,5 and 8are co-prime i.e.they have no common factor other than one.

thus,58 is the lowest form of 13×158

Step 2. Convert 58 into a mixed fraction.

A mixed fraction is a combination of a whole and a part that is obtained by dividing the numerator with the denominator,

such that DividendDivisor=QuotientRemainderDivisor

Also a proper fraction is one whose numerator is less than the denominator and an improper fraction is one whose numerator is more than the denominator.

Know that only improper fractions can be converted to mixed form.

Therefore, 58 can not be converted into a mixed fraction:

Hence, the lowest form of 13×158 is 58.
