Step 1: Follow the following steps to multiply two binomials.
Apply distributive law of multiplication.
Multiply every term of one binomial with every term in the other binomial.
Look for like terms, if any, and combine them.
Step 2: Multiply $(2.5 l - 0.5 m)$ and $(2.5 l + 0.5 m)$ .
$\begin{array}{l} (2.5 l - 0.5 m) \times (2.5 l + 0.5 m) \\ = 2.5 l (2.5 l + 0.5 m) - 0.5 m (2.5 l + 0.5 m) \\ = 6.25 l^{2} + 1.25 l m - 1.25 l m - 0.25 m^{2} \\ = 6.25 l^{2} - 0.25 m^{2} \end{array}$
Hence the product of $(2.5 l - 0.5 m)$ and $(2.5 l + 0.5 m)$ is $6.25 l^{2} - 0.25 m^{2}$ .
