Solution
Muscles and bones:
Muscles are the fibrous tissue in the body that has the ability to contract and relax.
A tissue consists of a network of closely woven small fibers joined together as bundles called fibrous tissue.
Bones are the rigid structure that constitutes the skeleton system and are made up of calcium.
Functioning of muscles:
Muscles work in pairs because when one of the muscles contracts, the bone is pulled in that direction.
When the bone moves in the opposite direction, the relaxed muscle gets contracted to pull the bone towards its original position, while the first relaxes.
A muscle cannot be pushed but it can be pulled.
Therefore, two muscles have to work together to move a bone.
