Solution

The correct option is D 1.3 V
h=6.63×1034 Js
c=3×108 ms1
λ1=280 nm
λ2=400 nm
Φ=25 eV

According to Einstein's photoelectric equation,
hcλ1=Φ+eVs1
hcλ2=Φ+eVs2

As λ1<λ2 Vs1>Vs2

hc(1λ11λ2)=e(Vs1Vs2)

Vs1Vs2=hce(1λ11λ2)

=6.63×1034×3×1081.6×1019(1280×1091400×109)
=1.3 V

Hence, (A) is the correct answer.
