Solution

The correct option is A 2.5 ms
As the given AC circuit is a pure R circuit,

i=i0sinωt

Let t1 be the time taken by the current from zero to maximum value,

When i=i0

i0=i0sinωt1ωt1=π2...(1)

Let t2 be the time taken by the current from zero to RMS value,

When i=i02

i02=i0sinωt2ωt2=π4...(2)

Time taken by current from maximum value to RMS value

(t1t2)=π2ωπ4ω=π4ω

(t1t2)=π4×2πf

(t1t2)=18×50

(t1t2)=1400 s

(t1t2)=2.5 ms

Hence, option (A) is correct.
