Explain the formation of pellets of ice falling along with rain in the hailstones.

Water evaporates and gets converted into water vapour. It undergoes condensation and results in the formation of water droplets.
These water droplets combine to form clouds. Once these clouds get heavy, they fall on the surface of the earth in the form of rain.
Big drops of water solidify to form pellets of ice known as hailstones.
