How many packets of chips, each weighing 120 g can be made from a 360 g pack?
Weight of each pack of chips = 120 g
Total weight of the big pack = 360= g
No of packets of chips with 120 g of chips = 360=÷120 = 36÷12
[Dividing 360 by 120 is the same as dividing 36 by 12, as both are divided by a common factor of 10]
From the multiplication table of 12, we know that 12 × 3 = 36. Since division is the reverse of multiplication,
36÷12=3.
=> 3 packs can be made from the big pack.
