Sodium (Na) atom with atomic number 11 has the electronic configuration 2,8,1.

Na+ ion is formed when Na atom loses one electron from its outermost shell i.e. M shell acquiring the electronic configuration 2,8.

Electronic configuration of Na+ ion is 2,8. (K,L)

The K and L shells are completely filled as their maximum capacity is 2 and 8 electrons respectively.
