Na+ is smaller than Na atom because:
Sodium atom has one electron lesser than sodium ion.
The effective nuclear charge is greater in case of sodium ion.
Nucleus in each case contains different nucleons.
Na+ is more stable than in Na atom.
The total number of electrons is 10 in case of Na+ and 11 in case of Na, while the number of proton is same i.e. 11 in both case.
