Solution
NaCl is ionic and CuCl is covalent. This covalent character increases as difference in electronegativity between the two atoms decreases.
NaCl is ionic due to presence of positive charge on Na+ and negative charge on Cl− which cause attractive force between them and formation of the ionic bond between two ions.
CuCl is more covalent than NaCl because Cu has same size as that of Na and CuCl has pseudo noble gas configuration due to which it has 18 electrons in outermost shell than NaCl which has 8 electrons.
