Solution

The correct option is A Calcium
When calcium (Ca) reacts with cold water it forms calcium hydroxide and liberates hydrogen gas. The bubbles of hydrogen gas stick to the surface of calcium and makes it to float.

Ca + 2H2O Ca(OH)2 + H2

Zinc (Zn) and Magnesium (Mg) do not react with cold water. Sodium (Na) reacts vigorously with cold water. The reaction is so violent and exothermic, that evolved hydrogen immediately catches fire.
